Talent & Sustainability webinar

27 Jan 2023

Thank you to everyone who attended our ‘Talent & Sustainability’ webinar featuring Marc Bailey (CEO of the BBGA) and Patrick Edmond (managing director of Altair Advisory). We really appreciate your support.

We also realise that it is not always possible to catch events live, therefore we have included the recording of the webinar so you can catch up at a time that’s convenient for you.

We hope you enjoy and welcome your feedback!

We have also included a few links which may be of interest:

Talent

We are grateful to Richard Smith (Talent View and TRS) for his contribution during the webinar with respect to recruitment. As promised here are the details to access the free recruitment resource:

Talentview Aviation (TVA for early careers) and the Aviation Skills Recruitment Platform (ASRP experienced hires), (you can use them both with the same login details) will provide your business with a free recruitment resource to support the ongoing growth and recovery of the aviation industry. Funded by the Department for Transport as part of the medium term strategy Flightpath to the future

It’s a great opportunity to join alongside other aviation businesses, universities, colleges using the platform. You can post vacancies for experienced people, early careers candidates and search the database totally free of charge.”

Sustainability

Patrick Edmond: “The course I mentioned about Civil Aviation Carbon Neutrality, helping managers across the aviation industry understand the challenges and the opportunities.

Good recent overview (15-minute video) of how SAF will scale up and where the production challenges are, as well as other possible power sources (they estimate that by 2050, electricity and hydrogen will each only contribute 3% (!) of aviation’s energy use).

An indication of which way the wind is blowing: here’s the Heathrow CEO at Davos saying that “wealthy individuals and companies should pay extra to fly with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in order to bring the costs down for everyone else”

Towards the end of the webinar Patrick talks about contrail reduction and the UK firm Satavia which is a pioneer in this space.
