It’s official! After two painstaking years of postponements, the IOM Aviation Conference is back, and its going to be bigger and better than ever!
If you haven’t already heard, the conference will take place on Wednesday 22nd June 2022 in Douglas on the Isle of Man. Organised by Martyn Fiddler Aviation and supported by the Isle of Man Aircraft Registry, the conference has a simple mission to bring business aviation professionals together in a friendly, business-focused environment.
Bringing people together has always been the mission, but it means even more than usual after two difficult years of lockdowns, travel restrictions and social distancing. Its hard to comprehend how wonderful it will be to get back to face-to-face networking and to catch up with much loved friends, colleagues and a clients.
Nicole Taylor, one of the conference organisers at Martyn Fiddler Aviation commented:
“We have been overwhelmed by the response we’ve received announcing the date for the 2022 IOM Aviation Conference. We always receive a positive response but this year has been outstanding! Its great to know that the conference has been missed and that people are looking forward to returning. We are working really hard behind the scenes to deliver another excellent conference with strong, relevant content and networking not to be missed.”
On top of all the excitement of post-pandemic schmoozing we will also be celebrating the conferences 10 year anniversary”.
Heather Gordon, Legal Director at Martyn Fiddler Aviation remarks:
“Getting to our 10th year is amazing! It is wonderful that we have managed to keep the conference modern and appealing to returning guests while still attracting newcomers – and we are going all out for our first decade’s celebration!”
Inspired by looking to the future, the agenda will focus on the challenges the industry is facing, as well as recognising successes and how far the industry has come”.
Key topics for discussion include:
- Sustainability and transformative technology
- Aircraft values and supply
- Charter market
- The European equation
- Governance
The environment and global warming are now priority matters for business aviation. Many operators are already actively helping clients to reduce their carbon footprint with carbon offsetting, sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and enhanced ATC procedures. The conference will consider the development of new technologies that will reduce fuel burns further and improve engine efficiency including zero emission solutions. Business Aviation has always been at the vanguard of aviation technology development to make our essential services environmentally acceptable for our clients and future generations.
The conversation regarding corporate governance is more important than ever in a world where both businesses and their clients are concerned with who they are working with, how they do business and how they manage risk. Ensuring that businesses in aviation – both big and small – manage not just their regulatory compliance but also their stakeholder obligations is going to be a dominant in 2022. We will have experts from the financial, legal and insurance industries advise on how this is not just a ‘nice to have’ and the consequences of getting it wrong.
2021 saw a bounce-back in business aviation in contrast to a depressed and slowly recovering airline industry. Low inventory, increasing prices and demand for business aircraft is going to make 2022 an interesting and intense year. Similarly we are seeing unprecedented demand in the charter industry with many new market entrants. Our experts will discuss the positive growth in the market and the need for education to spot bad actors.
2022 is set to be a sell out event so it is advised to register early to secure a place. Martyn Fiddler Aviation are offering a special early bird rate to anyone who registers before 11th February 2022.
