Join us as we tackle “The War on Talent” and “Sustainability

24 Jan, 2023

Join Martyn Fiddler Aviation as we tackle two of the most pressing challenges facing the industry in 2023: “The war on talent” and “Sustainability”.

Attend our webinar on 25 January at 11am (GMT)

Martyn Fiddler Aviation will be holding space for two passionate guest speakers, Marc Bailey (CEO, British Business and General Aviation Association) and Patrick Edmond (Managing Director, Altair Advisory) to discuss and get to grips with the following questions:

  • The talent shortfall – Where has it come from and what difficulties is it posing?
  • How can we attract and retain talent in business aviation?
  • Why does business aviation need to create its own narrative on sustainability?
  • What are realistic timescales and efforts needed to transition from SAF to new aviation technology?

The webinar follows the recent release of our “6 challenges facing business aviation in 2023” eBook. We wish to keep the conservation for the challenges we’ve outlined flowing, both to enlighten and educate, and to encourage a pathway to a more sustainable future for business aviation.

We are delighted to welcome two talented and knowledgeable experts to our webinar; both Marc and Patrick have spent their lives working all across the aviation spectrum and have unique perspectives on the challenges facing business aviation and the options to overcome them. Its going to interesting and we welcome your participation!

Our Guest Speakers

Marc Bailey, CEO, British Business and General Aviation Association

Marc BaileyMarc Bailey has spent his entire career in aviation and has had the opportunity to work in the scheduled operator environment (British Airways), MRO’s, SPO’s and Part 147 training (Cobham Plc). Even now Marc still holds a full EASA Part 66 licence, although most of the aircraft types can now be found in museums.

For the last ten years at the BBGA Marc has been working with regulators, government agencies and many of the key associations.  “I must say this has been the most interesting and challenging part of my career to date”.

With a membership of close to 180, as CEO of BBGA Marc represents a wide cross section of commercial GA activities and we have strong workgroups in our major disciplines of Operations, Airworthiness, Flight training, FBO’s and membership development.

Marc represents our position in Europe as President of ECOGAS (European Council of General Aviation Support) which gains us access to EASA and the Commission irrespective of Brexit outcomes. All the major member states are represented on the ECOGAS board. Through ECOGAS we hold a seat on the EASA strategic advisory board.

With recent developments Marc has joined two of the major APPG’s (All Party-Political Groups) for aviation, trying to represent our issues directly to the heart of government.

As part of an initiative to develop Aviation Services across all aviation activities, Marc has been asked to chair the new UKASF (United Kingdom Airworthiness Strategic Forum) which pulls together airlines, MRO’s, Helicopter and commercial GA bodies to work with CAA and DfT. The objective is for industry to take the lead where possible to drive strategic issues to benefit all parties.

Finally, Marc has helped form the GA4BIZ alliance which is the high-level body working with both CAA and DfT to help shape the future direction of GA for the UK.  This allows us a close dialogue with the aviation minister and their department. The alliance includes AOPA, ARPAS, BHA and BBGA as the only commercial GA associations in the UK.
