The Martyn Fiddler team have an exciting opportunity for a Client Accountant to join our busy, client-focussed team. The chosen candidate will be responsible for preparing financial statements/management accounts and VAT returns for a portfolio of mainly aircraft companies, along with other related returns.

The ideal applicant will be ACCA/ACA/CAT qualified or qualified by experience and will be able to demonstrate at least 3 years’ experience preparing financial statements for a portfolio of active clients in a CSP environment or accountancy practice.

This is a part-time role for 20-30hpw, offering hybrid working (following a probationary period) and a competitive salary. Full-time hours can also be considered.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Preparation of financial statements and tax returns for a portfolio of mainly aircraft companies
  • Preparation of management accounts for clients
  • Preparation, review and filing of VAT returns for clients
  • Preparation, review and filing of other tax/vat related returns for clients
  • Assistance with project to move client records from VT to Nav One
  • To support our Client Services Team by providing responses to accounting queries from our clients
  • Liaising with administrators, auditors and third parties to offer the highest standard of service to clients
  • Maintain the departments compliance with legislation, policies and procedures
  • Assisting with VAT business plans
  • Interaction with VAT office – dealing with queries
  • Interaction with tax office – dealing with queries
  • Attend operational and client meetings
  • Ad hoc duties

Qualifications and experience required:

  • ACCA/ACA/CAT qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of UK GAAP, FRS 102 S1a, IFRS
  • At least 3-5 years experience preparing financial statements for a portfolio of active clients in a CSP environment or accountancy practice
  • Knowledge of VT and/or NAV One would be an advantage, but is not essential
  • Excel skills
  • Ability to work without direct supervision and to tight deadlines
  • Professional approach and demeanour

  • Team player

Scope:

Part-time approx. 20-30hpw.
